2004 Law on transplantation of human organs for medical purposes NN 144\/12 and related ordinances.<\/p>\n

Expression of consent or dissent to the donation and organs that can be donated<\/strong><\/h1>\n

There is no age limit to be able to donate<\/strong> (in the case of minors, parental consent is required).<\/p>\n

Donation from a deceased person can only occur after brain death (determined by two clinical trials)<\/p>\n

Living donor organs \/ tissues are only collected if there are no appropriate organs \/ tissues of a deceased person and there is no other approximately equal treatment method<\/p>\n

Transplantation from living donors is performed in individual cases, ensuring compliance with rigorous professional and bioethical standards, after the approval of the institutional ethics committee and written consent of the recipient<\/p>\n

Consent modalities: presumed consent, opt-out system (however, it is customary to consult the family of the deceased person and the family\u2019s decision is respected)<\/p>\n

Organs that can be donated:<\/strong> pancreas, liver, kidney, small intestine, heart, lung<\/p>\n
