Expression of consent or dissent to the donation and organs that can be donated<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Starting from 1st February 2021 organ\u202fdonation in Latvia\u202fis\u202fbased\u202fon the possibility of registering as a donor or non-donor on the Health\u202fSystem’s online\u202fportal. If the will of the deceased is not\u202fknown, the consent of the closest relatives is required. If there are no relatives, the principle of presumed consent is followed.
Donations from a living person:<\/strong>\u202fblood, bone\u202fmarrow\u202fand, in some\u202fcases,\u202fkidneys.
